about

The album includes ten original songs written and performed by Gary and Dieter, who have been friends for over 50 years. With the classic western style of Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash, the songs depict the joys and struggles of life on Vancouver Island including love, loss, faith, politics and roosters.

Gary and Dieter have been getting together regularly for decades to share their thoughts and experiences and to write songs that express those ideas. Written without the intention of being performed, the songs are heartfelt and honest, and their voices rich with emotion and authentic character.

In February, 2016 they decided to do a professional quality recording of some of their songs, and contacted Luke at Junkyard Jukebox Studios. He immediately connected with their music, and after recording the initial tracks began recording additional tracks with a variety of instruments to produce a full, dynamic studio quality album.
